Do I need council approval for a backyard studio?
Yes. Because our studios are Class 1a buildings, they follow the National Construction Code. Most councils require approval for secondary dwellings, though the exact process and costs depend on your property. We can help guide you through it.
What’s included in the Shell package?
The Shell gives you the full structural frame, cladding, roof, windows and doors, interior lining, flooring, insulation, electrical wiring, paint and trim. It’s ready for you to add your own bathroom or kitchenette later if you prefer.
Can I add a bathroom or kitchen later?
Yes. You can start with a Shell and add a plug-in bathroom or kitchenette module later. Many customers begin with a Shell and upgrade over time.
Do you deliver and install?
We deliver across South East Queensland. Installation depends on your site access and foundation type — slab, piers, or footings. We’ll provide a site-specific quote for delivery and install.

How long does it take to build and deliver a studio?
Lead times vary, but typically 8–12 weeks from order to delivery once approvals are in place. Site works and council processes may add time.
Can I finance my backyard studio?
Yes. Because these are Class 1a dwellings, they can often be financed like other building projects. We can connect you with lenders familiar with modular studios.
